Clear View Project in Burma
Taking over the Buddhist Peace Fellowship’s Burma Project, Clear View Project has worked in Burma for many years, supporting political reforms and community development. We have built strong connections with western Buddhist centers, Burmese communities in exile here in the U.S., and Burma activist organizations.
Clear View Project has supported Burmese people politically and materially in many ways, particularly leading up to and following Burma’s Saffron Revolution in 2007. We have continued to work in Burma since the country’s major political and economic reforms began in 2011.
Clear View Project is also active in the Rohingya refugee crisis. We are working to support refugees and supporting the peace and reconciliation process in Burma.
“Letter to the Myanmar State Sangha,” petition to the Myanmar State Sangha, urging them to intervene in the Rohingya refugee crisis, organized by Clear View Project/Buddhist Humanitarian Project (September 2017)
“The Last of the Saffron Monks,” profile by Susie Poppick about the exile leaders of the Saffron Revolution (January 2011)
“Leading Saffron Revolution monk’s memoir,” article by U Pyinya Zawta on the Saffron Revolution and the history of monastic involvement in Burmese politics (January 2009)
